Video: Cricut Explore Air Unboxing

Cricut is releasing the new Explore Air and we’re unboxing one! What comes with the Cricut Explore Air? What’s new? Join us to find out!

Cricut Explore Air – Explore as a Platform

The Cricut Explore is the next iteration in the Cricut Explore line. The Explore was designed to be expanded upon over time but still maintain a core Explore experience. So while new machines are added tot he line they are added to the Explore experience, refining it, not leaving original Cricut Explore users behind.

Right now users with the original Cricut Explore and the new Cricut Explore Air still have the same experience designing, cutting, and creating with Cricut Design Space 2.0.

Cricut Explore Air – What’s New

The Cricut Explore Air has Bluetooth built-in for a wireless cutting experience out of the box. You still have the USB port and the option of using the USB cable. Now though you are ready for a wireless experience, especially with the exciting new iPad app coming your way soon for a convenient and portable Cricut Design Space experience.

Print Then Cut calibration out of the box. The Cricut Explore Air has it’s sensor calibrated in the factory so you can use Print Then Cut right out of the box, saving you extra set up time.

With Bluetooth built-in the Cricut Explore Air doesn’t have the expansion port used for the Cricut Explore Wireless Bluetooth Adapter on the original Cricut Explore.

Of course you can’t miss the new sky blue accents with the Cricut Explore Air!

  1. is the new cricut air’s blade the German carbide blade and can you use the licensed images for two weeks for free? also are the 50 make it projects free for two weeks only?? thanks, appreciate youor help, my new AIR comes Friday and I want to be ready to go….

    1. The blade is the same German Carbide Blade Cricut is using with the Explore line.

Licensed images are not included in the subscription, so they are not available with the sample subscription.

I am not sure how the 50 Make It Now projects works out, unfortunately. You would have to contact Cricut on that one.

  2. LOVE your videos….thanks so much for keeping it simple for us newbies. What is the difference between SUBSCRIBED and PURCHASED?

    1. Purchased means you have purchased the image or cartridge either digitally or linked a physical cartridge to your account. It’s yours to use permanently.

Subscribed means you have access to this image with a Subscription, either the free preview subscription or your paid subscription. You can use this as long as your subscription is active. If the subscription expires you will lose access to cut/print those images.

  3. Reading the comment & answer above about the blade I’m figuring that the blades that the Cricut Expression used are not the same as the Explore blade. Is this correct? Also, the setup indicates that the Cricut Explore Air & computer have to be 15 ft or less apart from oneanother. Is this because the signal is not as strong as a wireless printer? Reason I ask is because my hubby’s wireless printer is farther away from my computer & I can access it but when I placed my Cricut Explore Air in my craft room and it is a bit more than 15 ft from my computer in another room my computer could not find the Explore Air. I had all my cartridges linked on my Gypsy and after updating & syncing my Gypsy to latest version & content and updating Cricut Craft Room the Design Space did not see all my cartridges. I phoned Cricut and they had me log out & log back in for Design Space and then it saw all my cartridges so if anyone needs to know this I thought I’d pass that along because there was no FAQ about this.
